On Friday, September 10, 2010, the badly decomposed body of a female was discovered in a recycling center located at 1000 North Main Street, just north of downtown Los Angeles. It is probable that the victim was dumped into a recycling trash container at an unknown location.
The female victim is described as being of White or Hispanic descent, 40 to 80 years of age, with brown or auburn hair and approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall. Following the press conference, Central Area Homicide Detectives will be going door to door, passing out flyers. They will be accomplishing this with the assistance from LAPD Cadets from Central, Rampart, Northeast and Communications divisions.
A $50,000 reward is being offered to encourage information in identifying the remains, which could possibly lead to the identity of the person or persons responsible for her death.
Central Area Homicide Detective Brian Putnam or Detective Steve Chung, 213-996-1889 or 213-996-1890.
