A news conference to announce a $50,000 reward offered in connection with a felony hit-and-run traffic collision that caused serious injuries.

WHY:            
To announce the availability of a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for striking and seriously injuring a 62-year-old man at about 4:20 p.m. on June 5, 2011.  The victim was crossing midblock on 43rd Street between Central Avenue and Hooper Street when the incident occurred.  The vehicle’s driver failed to remain at the scene and render aid to the victim as required by law.  Detectives need the public’s help as witnesses were unable to obtain the hit-and-run vehicle’s license plate number.
