60 Year-Old Shot and Killed

Los Angeles: On Monday, July 7, 2003 at about 12:05 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of shots fired in the 16400 block of San Fernando Mission Boulevard in Granada Hills. When they arrived, the officers saw family members attending to a gunshot victim. The family discovered the victim slumped over inside of his vehicle, which was parked in front of his residence. The victim was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been returning home from work around 11:30 p.m. The victim had parked his vehicle at the curb in front of the family home. An unidentified suspect(s) shot the victim many times in the upper body while he was still seated in his vehicle. The victim was discovered a short time later by family members.
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. The victim has been identified as 62 year-old Marcos Flores.
