80 Members of the LAPD Recognized During Awards Ceremony

The Los Angeles Police Department will be presenting awards to sworn and civilian personnel for Heroism and Humanitarianism.

Award Recipients and their Families

WHY:
During the ceremony, 27 members of the Los Angeles Police Department will receive the Lifesaving Medal, 36 will receive the Police Meritorious Unit Citation, 7 will receive the Police Meritorious Service Medal, two officers will be presented with the Police Medal, seven will receive the Police Star and one individual will be presented with the prestigious Human Relations Medal.

A strict criterion governs the awards.  Personnel were selected by the Department for bravery and outstanding service, or for showing great compassion and for having gone beyond the call of duty in their response to fellow human beings.
