81-year-old Women Found Dead in Woodland Hills NR22221ah

Woodland Hills: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, or suspects, responsible for killing Ok Ja Kim, an 81-year-old, Korean, female from Woodland Hills.

On August 2, 2022, at 7:40 p.m., Topanga Area Patrol Officers responded to a radio call of a, “dead body possible fire arson involved” on the 20800 block of Martha Street, in Woodland Hills. Upon arrival, the officers observed evidence of forced entry and of a possible burglary. Officers located the victim in her bedroom, laying on the ground, and half her body under her bed. She was semi charred, unconscious and not breathing. Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced her deceased at scene.

Robbery Homicide Division, Los Angeles Fire Department Arson and Operations Valley Bureau Homicide responded to the scene. Detectives were advised that a family member went to the victim’s residence, found her deceased in her bedroom and saw evidence of a fire. Her family member then called 911. Detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance cameras, possible witnesses and further evidence. The exact cause of death at the moment is unknown.

There is no suspect information.
