Los Angeles: On February 07, 2025, at approximately 0940 a.m., Foothill Division uniformed officers responded to a radio call of a Possible Kidnap Suspect at a motel located at the 10000 block of San Fernando Road. The comments of the call indicated the Person Reporting, later identified as Linda Becerra Moran, was being forced to stay at the location against her will.

Once officers arrived, they entered the motel room and met with Moran. During their investigation, Moran became agitated, armed herself with a knife, and held it to her neck. The officers exited the motel room and deployed to the threshold of the doorway. The officers repeatedly verbalized for Moran to drop the knife. Moran did not comply and advanced toward the officers, while still holding the knife, when an Officer Involved Shooting occurred.

Moran was struck by gunfire, dropped the knife, and fell on the bed. Moran was taken into custody without further incident. The officers rendered aid to Moran, and she was transported by rescue ambulance to a local hospital, where she was treated and admitted for her injuries.

A knife was recovered from the scene and booked as evidence.

No officers or community members were injured as a result of this incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
