Afternoon Shooting Claims Life of 21 Year-Old

Los Angeles: 77th Area Homicide Detectives are handling the shooting incident that led to the death of Maurice Rico Marks, a 21 year-old male of Los Angeles. The shooting occurred on Tuesday afternoon, April 1, 2003, at approximately 2:15 p.m. The victim was standing in the middle of the street, in front of 1633 West 58th Street, when he was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was transported by a Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Unit to Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center where he died as a result of his wounds.
The motive is unknown. The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
