Altercation Lead to Shooting Death

Los Angeles: On Sunday, March 16, 2003, at approximately 12:10 p.m., the victim, 26 year-old, David Thomas, was involved in a physical altercation with three Black male suspects, in front of 414 east 97th Street. During the altercation, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The suspects then fled from the location.
Responding paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital. He failed to respond to emergency surgery and was pronounced dead.
The motive is unknown.
