Why:
Annually, the Los Angeles Police Department hosts a Memorial Ceremony to honor LAPD officers killed in the line of duty.  The ceremony will be attended by LAPD personnel, City officials, members of the community and family members of fallen officers.

The program will also feature the traditional “roll call” of fallen heroes, a 21-rifle volley, a “missing man” formation helicopter fly-over, the riderless horse, the symbolic sounds of bagpipers playing Amazing Grace and buglers playing Taps.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, family members will place a long-stem rose near their loved one’s name plate in the brass Memorial Wall.
