On Tuesday, August 17, 1999, at approximately 7:00 a.m, two employees of Arby’s Restaurant arrived at work, located at 1525 W. Sepulveda Blvd., Harbor City. One was a male employee and the other a female employee. They entered the business and were in the process of setting up for the day when they were approached by a male Black, black short hair, clean cut, dark skin, thin build, 5-11, 150/60 lbs., 25-30 years, wearing a white T-shirt, black pants and white/black Nike tennis shoes with a yellow stripe. The suspect was holding an unknown caliber black semi-automatic handgun.

The suspect directed both employees to the back storage area, had them lie on the floor, and tied their hands and feet. The suspect then sexually assaulted the female employee. The suspect then proceeded to ransack the office area and the front counter where the registers were located.

While in the process of ransacking, the suspect observed a third employee, a female day manager, enter through the front door and proceed to the cash registers. The suspect surprised the manager, had her open the safe, then lie on the floor at the front service area. The suspect tied the manager’s hands and feet. The suspect took the previous night’s receipts and the money for the current days registers totaling approximately $3,300.00. The manager heard the suspect exit by the front door. The manager was able to free herself and her employees and telephone the police.
