"Argument Turned Shooting in Public Park"

Park La Brea-On April 2, 2000 at 10:00 p.m., Wilshire Division Patrol Officers responded to an "Assault with Deadly Weapon, Shots Fired" call in the 100 block of South Gardner Street, Pan Pacific Park. The preliminary investigation revealed that two victims were confronted by suspect #1, one of five male African-American suspects. An argument ensued between the suspects and victims when suspect #1 pulled a handgun and shot both victims. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and were listed in serious but stable condition. Suspects have not been identified at this time and the investigation is on going.

Suspect #1: Male, African-American, black hair, unknown eyes, 5’10-5’11, 200 lbs., 19/20 years old, white shirt, blue jacket and green pants.

Suspect #2 through #5: Male, African-Americans, and no further description.
