Arrest of Koreatown Aggravated Assault Suspect NR18050tk

Koreatown: The Los Angeles
Police Department Olympic Division detectives have arrested a
suspect in connection with the February 10, 2018, assault of
85-year-old Mi Reum Song.

On February 10, 2018,
around 1:25 p.m., Mi Reum Song was struck in her face by a male
Hispanic as she was walking to the grocery store around Olympic
Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. Mrs. Song sustained injuries to her
head and face because of the attack.

Detectives assigned to the case located video from a local business
that showed a person of interest running from the scene shortly
after the crime was committed.

On February 12, 2018, a press conference was held at Olympic
Community Police Station to request the assistance from the
community in identifying the person of interest.

Within hours, the Los Angeles Police Department received several
tips that led to the identification of 41-year-old Richard Rene
Colomo of Bell Gardens. Colomo is a male Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches
tall, weighing 170 pounds.

After several interviews and extensive investigation by detectives,
Colomo was arrested for the crime.

The Los Angeles Police Department would like to thank the community
for their assistance in identifying the suspect of this
crime.
