Arrests Made at Illegal Cannabis Dispensary NR18105ml

April 6, 2018

Reseda: Members of LAPD’s West Valley Narcotics Enforcement Detail served a search warrant this morning at an illegal cannabis dispensary in the 18400 block of Vanowen Street in Reseda.

Detectives began monitoring the location after receiving numerous community complaints and noticing an increase in crime in the surrounding neighborhoods. “This location was run in a very clandestine manner and not as a lawful business. It did not embrace the close-knit community values of Reseda” said Captain Natalie Cortez, Commanding Officer of LAPD’s West Valley Division. Although the laws regarding the use, possession, and sale of cannabis changed this year, the investigation revealed that the dispensary was still operating outside the law and did not take any steps to become a legal business.

The search warrant was served at approximately 10:00 a.m., without incident. Three people were arrested in connection with the warrant. Over 100 pounds of cannabis was seized, as well as U.S. currency. Anyone with additional information is urged to call West Valley Detectives, at (818) 374-7730.
