Arrests Made in the Murder of LAPD Police Officer Juan Diaz NR19213dm

Los Angeles: During the early morning hours of August 2, 2019, detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Robbery Homicide Division, and numerous LAPD resources, served multiple search warrants in Southern California, including areas surrounding Murrieta, Riverside and Temecula, California. Thus, three suspects were arrested who detectives believe are responsible for Diaz’s murder.

The suspects arrested are:

Booking #5706203 Francisco Talamantes, male Hispanic, Date of Birth – 08/11/1995 (23 years old) Resident of Temecula, Ca Charge: 187(a) PC – Murder w/ Gang Allegation, NO BAIL

Booking #5706186 Cristian Facundo, male Hispanic, Date of Birth – 05/28/1999 (20 years old) Resident of Temecula, Ca Charge: 187(a) PC – Murder w/ Gang Allegation, NO BAIL

Booking #5706333 Ashlynn Smith, female White, Date of Birth – 07/06/2001 (18 years old) Resident of Temecula, Ca Charge: 187(a) PC – Murder w/ Gang Allegation, NO BAIL

The investigation is on-going and the case is being prepared for filing with the District Attorney’s Office. As additional information becomes available, we will provide it in a timely manner.
