Assault with a Deadly Weapon Suspect Caught on Video NR21133wc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Area detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a violent attack.

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, around 12:02 a.m., an assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the intersection of 25th Street and San Pedro Street. The victim, a homeless female, was asleep on the sidewalk when the suspect approached her. The suspect stabbed the victim in the head with a steel kitchen knife then fled the location. A passerby contacted police.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local area hospital in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic male, medium complexion, approximately 30 to 40-years-old. He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He was wearing a face mask, a black long sleeve hooded sweatshirt, dark blue pants, black shoes, and one glove on his right hand.
