"Assistance Requested in Locating Two Homicide Suspects"
 
Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division will be conducting a press conference to request the public’s assistance in locating two identified homicide suspects. The news conference will be held on January 4, 2001 at 10:00 a.m., in front of Parker Center, 150 North Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles.
On Sunday, September 14, 1997, at 2:00 a.m., victim Antonio Trujillo Meregil, a male Hispanic, 32 years of age, was shot multiple times in the rear parking lot of 101 North Pacific Avenue, San Pedro. The suspects fled the location in their vehicle. Paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded and transported Trujillo to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where he was admitted for multiple gunshot wounds treatment. On October 2, 1997, Trujillo died from the gunshot wounds.
The investigation identified the suspects as Heriberto Sanchez Pedroza, also known as Herberto Sanchez, and Joaquin Pedroza Jimenez, also known as Joaquin Pedroza. Felony murder warrants have been issued for both suspects. Detectives have checked all known addresses for suspects Heriberto Sanchez and Joaquin Pedroza.
Suspect Heriberto Sanchez is described as a Male Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches, 160 pounds, brown eyes, black hair, light skinned, date of birth: 05-13-66. Warrant # LAPNA03453101.
Suspect Joaquin Pedroza is described as a Male Hispanic, 5 feet 5 inches, 155 pounds, brown eyes, black hair, date of birth: 08-16-68. Warrant # LAPNA03453102.
The victim’s surviving wife, Guillermina Trujillo, their three children and his brother will be at the press conference to make a special plea to bring the suspects to justice. Photographs of the suspects will be displayed at the press conference.
