Automated Photo Red Light Enforcement Program

What:
Announcing the activation of the photo red light traffic enforcement camera within Operations-Central Bureau (OCB). This is the fourth activation within OCB (17th in the City) with a new PRL monitoring system, which records vehicle license plates that run red lights. In the near future, 15 additional locations will be outfitted with comparable machinery, totaling 32 intersections Citywide.

Why:
The Los Angeles Police Department has new automated enforcement cameras at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Lorena Street. The news conference will highlight the system’s capabilities and advise the motoring public of its existence.

DVDs from the equipment manufacturer will be distributed to the media at the conclusion of the news conference. The DVD details the features of the new system.
