Bringing Holiday Cheer to a Family in Need

December 24, 2002

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department, Pacific Area Officers’ in conjunction with the Los Angeles Police Protective League, will team together and provide both gifts and money for a family in need.
This week, Pacific Area officers’ learned that Mrs. Claudia Guevara and her two children–Oscar age 9 and Anna age 7–would not be celebrating Christmas due to financial problems that stemmed from the father leaving the family and not providing support. As a result, Mrs. Guevara is working two jobs just to make the rent and pay for their telephone that was recently disconnected.
This family is special to Pacific Area, as both children are members of the Pacific Area Deputy Auxiliary Police (DAP) program. The children never miss their meetings and Mrs. Guevara is a long-time LAPD supporter.
This event will take place today, December 24, 2002 at 10:30 a.m., and is located at 12330 Louise Avenue #2, in Los Angeles.
This will hopefully restore some faith and bring holiday cheer to a family that truly supports the Los Angeles Police Department.
