Brother Stabs Sister to Death During Family Dispute

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at about 1:45 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a stabbing incident which occurred in the 15000 block of Parthenia Street, in Panorama City. When the officers arrived, they were directed to an apartment where two victims of stab wounds were discovered.
Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics transported both victims to area hospitals. The female victim, 28 year-old Blanca Desantiago died as a result of her injuries. The second victim, an 18 year-old male remains in critical but stable condition.
The suspect, identified as the deceased’s brother, 24 year-old, Victor Manuel Desantiago moved in with his sister recently after arriving from El Paso Texas. The reason for the dispute between the suspect and his sister remains under investigation. Detectives believe the 18 year-old male victim attempted to intercede in the attack and was subsequently stabbed several times.
The suspect was seen fleeing the apartment complex on foot and is believed to be in the area. He is described as a Hispanic, 5’-10", 195 pounds, black hair, brown eyes, with multiple tattoos. He is considered extremely dangerous and is possibly armed with the murder weapon.
The status of the case, as well as, a photo of the suspect will be made available to the media at the press conference.
