July 30, 2023

Hollywood:  The Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations West Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for the death of a 32-year-old male.

On July 30, 2023, around 2:00 a.m., Hollywood Division officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and when they arrived, were directed to the victim lying in the street, who was not conscious and not breathing.

The victim was working as a security guard at a nightclub on the 6500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.  For unknown reasons, a group of seven to eleven male Blacks in their 20s, confronted the victim and when the victim lost his footing and fell to the street, the suspects advanced and began kicking and stomping the victim.  The suspects fled on foot westbound on Santa Monica Boulevard to southbound Hudson Avenue.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s identity is not being released at this time, pending notification of next-of-kin and identification by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
