Burglary Suspects Target Asian and Middle Eastern Family Homes NR15209ml

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Area has been experiencing a burglary trend where suspects are targeting Asian and Middle Eastern communities.

The suspects target single family residences and look for the following:

Slippers or shoes by the front or back door. Asian symbols or pottery displayed on the façade, porch or in the landscaping. Expensive cars. Suspects look at mail in mailbox to confirm it’s an Asian or Middle Eastern household. It is recommended that community members:

Pay attention to their surroundings and report any suspicious activity or unusual people in there neighborhood Place their slippers or shoes inside the house or out of public view. Purchase an alarm and/or surveillance system. Purchase a mailbox that locks.
