Car Crashes On Freeway, Driver Is Victim Of Homicide

Los Angeles: On Friday, December 13, 2002, at approximately 3:40 a.m., the California Highway Patrol noted a 1990 gray Oldsmobile on the westbound shoulder of Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Fwy). The vehicle had collided with the guardrail, and upon closer examination, the CHP officers discovered the driver had sustained a gunshot wound in the upper torso. Paramedics of the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The death has been determined to be a homicide, the preliminary cause appearing to be from the gunshot wound.
The victim has been described as 26 year-old Geary Harbert a male Black.
Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation and are seeking assistance from the public.
