Cash Reward Offered for Three Jefferson Park Area Hit-and-Run Investigations NR22016mp

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) South Traffic Division is investigating three recent Hit-and-Run incidents in the Jefferson Park Area.

Incident One:
On January 5, 2022, at around 5:40 P.M., a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound on 30th Street near 4th Avenue, struck a 46-year-old female pedestrian, Nallely Oregel, who was walking her dog southbound on the sidewalk on 4th Avenue. The driver of a midsize silver SUV lost control as they attempted to make a right turn southbound on 4th Avenue. The vehicle jumped the curb and ran off the roadway, striking Oregel and her dog. The suspect continued southbound on 4th Avenue without stopping or rendering aid to the injured Oregel. Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Oregel to a nearby hospital.

There is a $25,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the identity, arrest, and prosecution of the person responsible for injuring Oregel.

Incident Two:
On January 7, 2022, at around 5:45 P.M., a vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue near 29th Street, struck 25-year-old male, Giovanny Castro, who was riding a scooter on Western Avenue. The vehicle, a silver or gray sedan, continued southbound on Western Avenue without stopping or rendering aid to the injured Castro. Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Castro to a nearby hospital.

There is a $25,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the identity, arrest, and prosecution of the person responsible for injuring Castro.

Incident Three:
On January 11, 2022, at around 5:30 P.M., a vehicle traveling westbound on Jefferson Boulevard near 11th Avenue in Jefferson Park, struck 47-year-old male pedestrian, Luis Martinez, who was walking eastbound on Jefferson Boulevard.

The vehicle, a maroon Chevy Trailblazer, fled westbound on Jefferson Boulevard without stopping or rendering aid to the injured Martinez. Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Martinez to Cedar Sinai Medical Center. Unfortunately, Martinez later succumbed to his injuries sustained from the collision and was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

There is a $50,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the identity, arrest, and prosecution of the person responsible for killing Luis Martinez.
