Child Abduction Regional Emergency Alert Issued

Los Angeles: Investigators from the The Los Angeles Police Department, Foothill Community Police Station are requesting the assistance from the public in locating two abducted children.
On December 13, 2003 at 5:50 p.m., Maria Mendoza reported that her estranged husband did not returned their two children as per their verbal agreement.
On December 13, 2003 at about 3:00 p.m., the suspect contacted his estranged wife by telephone and told her that he was out of state and that she could visit the children whenever she wanted. The suspect did not tell the victim where he was and did not allow her to speak to the children.
The suspect also told the victim that if she contacted the police he would harm himself and the children.
The children were identified as: 5 year-old Johana Mendoza, a female Hispanic, light brown hair, brown eyes, 4 feet, 46 pounds. Johana was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. One and a half year-old Giovani Egber Mendoza a a male Hispanic, black hair, brown eyes, 2’0", 25 pounds, last seen wearing a brown sweat shirt, blue pants and white shoes.
Suspect Juan Jose Mendoza is described as a 30 year-old male Hispanic, black hair, brown eyes, 6’0", 195 pounds. His last know address was 8145 Hone Street, Paramount, California.
