On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, investigators from Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section, booked 23-year-old, Shane Zachary Flowers for the death of an 18-month-old child. Flowers was detained by Torrance Police Department prior to being booked by the Los Angeles Police Department, for 273A(A) PC (Child Abuse Resulting in Death). His booking number is 6214724 and his bail is set at $100,000.
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section are investigating the death of a child.
On July 13, 2021, at around 12 p.m., investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section were notified by medical staff of a child death. The decedent, 18-month-old male, had been transported by Los Angeles City Fire Department from the 5600 block of S. Western Avenue, in medical distress, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
An investigator with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office responded with Los Angeles Police Department’s Abused Child Section. The cause of death is pending.
This is an ongoing investigation.
