WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department and the non-profit group; The San Fernando Valley Coalition on Gangs is committed to reducing crime, while helping children avoid getting into gangs, tagger crews, or trouble. Children’s Day, “A Salute to Kids” will celebrate the children in the City of Los Angeles by showcasing all of the available programs, including Football, Golf, Baseball, Basketball organizations, YMCA programs, Scouting organizations, Soccer programs, after school programs and activities offered at local parks. All the programs are designed to offer children healthy alternatives and activities to promote positive lifestyle.   

On this day, we are expecting over 65,000 kids and their families. We’ll have two stages load with great entertainment including the Radio Disney AM 1110 Street Team, live music, dance teams, numerous carnival rides, rock climbing, 30 Gourmet food trucks and a resource fair with over 125 programs and activities that are all about kids.  There will be celebrity appearances including the voice of Bart Simpson and so much more to see.
