We will stand alongside the community to spread the message of peace in South LA. Everyone is invited to take part in this community event. Community Pride and Public Safety are a shared responsibility.

Upon the start of the Peace Rally we will congregate at Vermont Square Park. Guest speakers will address the crowd regarding the violence that has plagued this area. Clergy members will offer a prayer for the violence that has occurred in this area and community members will have an opportunity to address those in attendance.

The Vermont Square community has shared concerns about the recent shooting that involved four victims, with one of the victim’s being under the age of ten. The LAPD 77th Area has partnered with clergy and community leaders to help reduce violence and mentor youth to reduce the incidents of gang involvement. This will be an opportunity for the South LA community to share concerns, call for unity and let their voice be heard. 77th Area continues to partner with the community to empower and promote unity by improving the lives of all South LA community members.
