WHERE: Pueblo del Rio Housing Development 5301 East 53rd Street Los Angeles, California

WHO: Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles Representatives Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Robert N. Arcos, Operations Central Bureau Los Angeles Police Department Captain III Jorge R. Rodriguez, Newton Area Newton Area Community Safety Partnership Officers

WHY: The Community Safety Partnership program (CSP) is a collaboration between the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). CSP will be introduced to the residents of the Pueblo del Rio Housing Development through a community fair. This event will include jump houses, free food, a train, a mechanical bull, a climbing wall as well as community resources.

The mission of the Community Safety Partnership Program is to foster relationships with the residents in the Pueblo del Rio housing community. The ongoing focus is to start and support community and youth programs, address quality of life issues and develop programs to address and reduce violent crimes.

The Community Safety Partnership is now a sustainable and widely successful program that uplifts community voices in the neighborhood of Pueblo de Rio. The Community Safety Partnership has been used as a model for how relationship-based policing can be used on a national level by the Presidential Task Force on 21st Century Policing..
