Crime Stoppers Tip Places Fatal Hit and Run Suspect Under Arrest NR15325ml

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic detectives arrested a man responsible for a Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision.

On Saturday, September 12, 2015, around 6:20 a.m., officers responded to a radio call of a traffic collision at Nordhoff Street and Noble Avenue. Officers found that the driver of a 2014 Toyota Camry was driving eastbound on Roscoe Boulevard. The driver was making a left turn to northbound Noble Avenue when he hit a motorcycle being driven by Gabriel Carmona-Guerrero. The driver of the Toyota Camry drove away from the scene and did not render aid to Carmona-Guerrero or exchange information.

Carmona-Guerrero sustained major injuries as a result of the traffic collision and was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue where he later died from the injuries he sustained.

On Monday, September 21, 2015, investigators received an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers. Utilizing this information, investigators followed the leads and found key evidence related to the crime. Investigators arrested Mario Eduardo Martinez, a 22-year old resident of North Hills, for Felony Hit-and-Run and Vehicular Homicide. Martinez is being held on a $50,000 bail.
