Jeremiah has been located in good health and is with a family member of the victim. The suspect, Adonis Childress, has not yet been located.

West Hills:
Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Division are asking for the public’s help in locating Adonis Childress and 11-month-old Jeremiah Montgomery.

Childress and the victim, mother of Jeremiah, are in a dating relationship. On June 17, 2023, around 8:00 a.m., Childress and the victim engaged in a verbal dispute that turned physical. The physical altercation resulted in the victim being choked, punched in the face, multiple fractures to her nose, and loss of consciousness. Around 10:00 a.m., Childress dropped the victim off at a local hospital in the 7300 block of Medical Center Drive. He then fled in the victim’s 2013 black KIA Optima sedan, New Mexico license plate “AMNF84”, with 11-month-old Jeremiah and the victim’s cell phone. The victim and her family repeatedly called the victim’s phone and asked Childress to return the child, but he refused. The victim’s phone has since been turned off. Childress is not the biological father of Jeremiah.

Adonis Childress is described as a 30-year-old male Black, medium build, with black hair and brown eyes. He stands six feet two inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue shorts, black sandals and white socks.

Jeremiah Montgomery is described as an 11-month-old male Black, with black hair and brown eyeAdonis Childresss. He is two feet tall and weighs 30 pounds.
