Department’s Response to Park Rangers’ Union Press Conference

July 3, 2000

As stated by Chief Bernard Parks, a few weeks ago when he appeared before the Los Angeles Police Commission, the Los Angeles Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency within the City of Los Angeles. We are responsible for responding to all police-related matters and for investigating all crimes that occur within the City of Los Angeles. To that end, we will respond to all police-related requests for assistance, within the City of Los Angeles, by the Park Rangers.

The Park Rangers provide a vital service to the members of this community. We are proud to have enjoyed a long-standing, great relationship with the Park Rangers and we look forward to continuing with that positive spirit of cooperation.
