Deputy Chief Pomeroy’s Son Graduates the Police Academy

Los Angeles – On Friday, March 10, 2000, Deputy Chief Martin Pomeroy’s son will graduate from the Police Academy. After seven months of intense training, Aaron Pomeroy will follow in his father’s footsteps as a Los Angeles Police Officer. Deputy Chief Pomeroy was appointed to the Department on June 16, 1969 and promoted to Deputy Chief on October 19, 1993. Deputy Chief Pomeroy is the Commanding Officer of Operations Headquarters Bureau which oversees the Department’s tactical response and all specialized Detective entities.

"I am very excited and proud of my son Aaron", said Chief Pomeroy. "He has accomplished his dream come true."

The Graduation ceremony will take place at the Elysian Park Academy at 1880 Academy Road, Los Angeles, California at 10:00 a.m. The media are invited to attend the ceremony and meet Deputy Chief Pomeroy and his son Aaron.
