On July 18, 2025, at 1:40 p.m., Mr. Anyabwile was found deceased inside his vehicle in the 7000 block of W. 85th Street, in the Westchester area. His family has been notified.

Detectives are Seeking the Public’s Help Locating a Missing 63-Year-Old Man

The family and friends of Rwechungula Anyabwile and detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating him.

Rwechungula Anyabwile was last seen on May 22, 2025, and last communicated with his family via a group text on June 22, 2025. He is known to frequent the area around the 5500 block of Lincoln Boulevard in Playa Vista. He was last driving a black Hyundai Sonata, with license plate 8AFS079. He is described as a 63-year-old male, bald, with brown eyes, standing 6’01” and weighing approximately 195 lbs.

The family wants the public to be aware that Rwechungula Anyabwile had no known medical conditions and has not gone missing before.
