Hollywood: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Area announce the arrest of James Otis for Felony Vandalism of the Donald Trump star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On October 2, 2020, Otis used a pick axe to destroy the Donald Trump star. Recently on social media, Otis expressed his intention to damage the star, and in 2016 was arrested for the same charge.

During the investigation, and after reviewing video of the incident, it was determined the individual destroying the star appeared to be James Otis. Detectives contacted Otis’ publicity team who relayed his desire to turn himself in for the recent crime. On October 5, 2020, Otis entered Hollywood Station where he was questioned by detectives and subsequently booked for 594(b)(1), Felony Vandalism. Bail was set in the amount of $20,000.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce estimated the damage to be over $3,000.
