Detectives Investigate a Hit and Run Traffic Collision

Los Angeles: On Thursday, January 2, 2003, at approximately 11:58 A.M. a traffic collision occurred at Flower Street and Wilshire Boulevard.
A 47 year-old male, Black, driving a 2001, silver Saturn was traveling eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard approaching Flower Street, for an unknown reason he lost control of his vehicle and clipped another vehicle just prior to colliding with a lamp standard.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The clipped vehicle failed to stop at the scene and was described only as a black vehicle.
The identification of the 47 year-old man is pending notification of his family.
