Detectives Investigate a Homicide

Los Angeles: LAPD detectives are investigating the murder of Juan Jose Jacobo Preciado, a 26 year-old Hispanic Male.

On May 6, 2006, at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to an ADW call at the 800 block of South Westlake Avenue. Officers discovered Mr. Preciado in the first floor of the apartment hallway with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead by LAFD paramedics.

The preliminary investigation revealed that two male Black suspects approached Preciado. One of the suspects produced a firearm and took the victim’s bag. The suspects then forced the victim to knock on the door of his apartment. Preciado’s brother opened the front door and was also assaulted by the armed suspects. Preciado was shot as he attempted to flee from the suspects. His brother was not injured.

The suspects are described as two male Blacks. Suspect number one is about 26-years-old, 6’3" to 6′ 4" tall with a thin build and clean-shaven, wearing a black hooded jacket and blue jeans. Suspect number two is described as short in stature, black hair, wearing a black short sleeve T-shirt and black pants.
