Detectives Investigate a Homicide

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at about 3:30 p.m., Northeast Division patrol officers responded to an auto body shop located on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Mariposa Street. When the officers arrived they saw two male Armenian victims on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.
The investigation revealed that the victims and suspect(s) were engaged in an argument. During the argument the suspect(s) shot the victims. The origin of the argument is unknown and it has not been determined if the suspect and victims were acquainted prior to the incident. The suspect(s) left the crime scene on foot.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where 23 year-old Gor Avetisyan died from his injuries. The second victim is described as a 27 year-old male and listed in critical condition.
Robbery Homicide Division was notified and took charge of the investigation.
