Detectives Investigate Drive-By Shooting Homicide

Los Angeles : On November 20, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. , West Los Angeles Area uniformed officers responded to a radio call regarding a report of shots being fired at 2035 S. Corning St . Upon arrival of uniformed personnel they discovered three victims who had sustained gunshot wounds as a result of a drive-by shooting. LaShawn Brunson, 21 years of age and a resident of Palmdale, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported by ambulance to Cedars Sinai Medical Center for emergency treatment. Brunson failed to respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m. The two other victims sustained minor gunshot wounds and were treated and released.
Witnesses to the shooting have described the shooters vehicle as a light gray/silver or white minivan, possibly a Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey, with a partial California license number of “5H—–“.
