Los Angeles: Wilshire Homicide Detectives Bolan and Cooper are investigating the shooting death of Ruben Reese, a 27 year-old male Black. The shooting occurred on Sunday, September 1, 2002 at approximately 11:05 a.m. A second victim, a 27 year old male resident of Los Angeles, was also shot but survived the incident.
Wilshire Patrol Officers received a radio call to the intersection of 21st Street and Rimpau Boulevard to investigate the report of a shooting. Both victims were transported by Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Mr. Reese was pronounced dead at 11:43 a.m..
Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. The suspects were described as two male Blacks and were driving a gray compact vehicle. There is no information available as to type of weapon or motive.
