Detectives Seeking Information on Murder of 63-Year-Old NR22191ll

Downtown: Los Angeles Police Department Central Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect responsible for the murder of 63-year-old Gerld Aundre Burrell.

On June 19, 2022, at 12:30 a.m., Central Patrol officers responded to a radio call of an “Ambulance Death Investigation” in the 500 block of South San Pedro Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim laying on the floor inside an apartment with apparent gunshot wounds.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.

Detectives obtained surveillance video which captured the suspect fleeing the location. The motive for the shooting is unknown. In addition to killing the victim, the suspect attempted to shoot three other people within the complex.

The suspect has been identified as Deshawn Dequan Porter, date of birth: 06/03/1995. At the time of the incident, Porter was seen with a female Black, who assisted Porter after the shooting. She can be seen in the surveillance video, and detectives are attempting to identify her.
