The open house, which is free of charge, will feature: SWAT team, a police dog, the mounted unit, a police helicopter, the motorcycle unit, the California Highway Patrol’s new BMW motorcycle, members of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) unit, California Search and Rescue, and LAPD’s Crime Prevention Unit.
In addition to these displays, members of the LAPD recruiting unit will be on hand to provide information on how to join the LAPD. LAPD Reserve officers and members of the Explorer program will be available to discuss their function as well.
This open house is just one event which highlights LAPD’s open channel of communication with the public we serve while continuing the tradition of community policing pioneered by the LAPD.
