Los Angeles: On Monday, April 3rd, at 1:10 p.m., the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team will play their first home game of the season. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) wants to remind people that the parks within Elysian Park will be closed to the public beginning April 2nd at 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on April 3rd at 5:00 a.m. When the parks reopen, there will be enforcement for consuming alcoholic beverages within the parks and illegal parking. We encourage attendees of the game to come early and enjoy the area, but understand that arrests or citations will be used for violators.
If you plan on attending the game and buying tickets near the stadium, be aware of ticket scalpers who may sell you fraudulent tickets. There is often little recourse once you arrive and attempt to gain access to the game. There will be undercover officers in the area enforcing illegal ticket scalping in the hours leading up to the game.
In an effort to assist the public in avoiding possible traffic congestion and parking delays, the LAPD is informing the public of a temporary parking restriction near Dodger Stadium. Between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., there will be restricted parking on Palm Row (Stadium Way) between Scott Road and Academy Road.
Everyone in attendance on opening day deserves a safe and fun-filled day of baseball, so please respect the neighborhood and stay safe.
