Domestic Dispute Results in Deadly Shooting

Los Angeles: Hollenbeck Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 20 year-old male Hispanic.
On Sunday, September 28, 2003, at about 4:55 a.m., the victim became involved in a "Domestic Dispute" with his girlfriend inside their residence located in the 300 block of South Avenue 20. The girlfriend’s father (suspect) who lived next door armed himself and intervened. The dispute between the victim and the suspect escalated causing the suspect to shoot the victim. The girlfriend called 911 and Hollenbeck officers responded to the scene. The suspect was waiting for the arrival of the uniformed officers. The suspect directed the officers to the location of the weapon and the victim. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The suspect was identified 50 year-old Ramon Rendon and was arrested for 187(A) P.C. (Murder).
The victim’s identity has been withheld pending notification to her family.
