Driver and Vehicle Sought After Bicyclist was Killed NR21064rc

North Hills: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the driver involved in a hit and run traffic collision that killed a 38-year-old man.

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, around 4:20 a.m., a vehicle was travelling eastbound on Roscoe Boulevard when it collided with a bicyclist travelling southbound within the crosswalk at the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid or identify themselves as required by California law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. The bicyclist name will be withheld until next of kin has been notified.

The vehicle is described as a dark colored 2007-2011, Toyota Camry, 4 doors. This investigation is ongoing.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

The public is reminded to always ride bicycles in a safe manner, ride to the right (not facing traffic), and obey rules of the road.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
