DUI Traffic Collision Results in Double Fatality NR19314ml

Winnetka: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a double fatality that occurred on Parthenia Street just west of Sunny Brae Avenue.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, around 12:55 a.m., a 2007 Chevy truck with three occupants was travelling westbound Parthenia Street just west of Sunny Brae Avenue at a high rate of speed.

The Chevy truck drove into oncoming traffic, lost control, and struck two vehicles that were parked on Parthenia street along the south curb. The Chevy truck then continued in a northwest direction and overturned, causing all three occupants to be trapped inside the truck.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced both male passengers, a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old dead.

The name of the deceased will not be released until next-of-kin have been notified.

The driver of the Chevy truck was driving under the influence, he suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

He has been identified as Pablo Roman Trujillo Carrasco, 20 years of age. He was subsequently arrested and booked for 187(A) PC-Murder and is being held at Van Nuys Jail with bail set at $4,000,000.00.

Drivers are reminded to drive at a safe speed, wear your seatbelt, and don’t drink and drive. Speed kills, reckless driving, and drunk driving will not be tolerated in the City of Los Angeles.
