Early Morning Hit and Run Claims Woman’s Life – Update

Los Angeles: The police department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a car that killed a 22-year-old woman. 

On March 18, 2006, at about 2 AM, a hit and run felony traffic collision occurred at Wilshire Boulevard and Ridgeley Drive.  The woman was crossing southbound from the north curb of Wilshire Boulevard in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a car  traveling east on Wilshire Boulevard.  The driver of the car did not stop and continued eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard.  The car was last seen making a left turn at Burnside Avenue. 

The woman was taken to Cedar Sinai Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Unfortunately she died from her injuries four and a half hours later. 

The woman has been identified as Corinne McClane, a resident of Northridge.

The car was described as a 2002-2005 Jeep Cherokee, black in color.

UPDATE:

*West Traffic Detectives developed several leads and witnesses that led to the arrest of 21-year-old Thomas Om, a resident of Garden Grove.  On March 21, 2006, at approximately 3:00 PM, Mr. Om, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in and was booked at Wilshire Jail for felony hit and run.  His bail amount was set at $50,000.
