"Early Morning Shooting Claims Victim’s Life"

Wilmington: On July 3, 2000, at approximately 3:15 a.m., the victim, Jesus Madrid, male Hispanic, 20 years old, a resident of Wilmington was approaching the front door of the residence at 1203 North Ronan Avenue, Wilmington, in order to contact an acquaintance who resided there. Unknown suspect(s) inside the residence fired several shots at the victim, striking him repeatedly in the upper torso. The victim retreated across the street and collapsed at the east curb of North Ronan Avenue. The victim expired at the scene.

The motive for the killing is unknown. The suspect(s) and murder weapons are outstanding.
