Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old bicyclist.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, around 10:15 p.m., an unknown vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on 67th Street toward Flower Street when it struck the victim, who was riding a bicycle eastbound on 67th Street from Flower Street. Following the crash, the driver continued eastbound on 67th Street toward Grand Avenue, fleeing the scene without stopping to render aid or identify themselves, as required by law.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
