Fatal Hit-and-Run Leaves Pedestrian Dead NR26039jc

Panorama City: The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Valley Traffic Detectives (VTD) are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man in his mid-30’s.

On February 7, 2026, around 11:50 p.m., a vehicle traveling westbound Devonshire Street at Densmore Avenue collided with a pedestrian in the street. The impact caused the pedestrian to collide with the roadway and sustain serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene without stopping, identifying themselves, or attempting to render aid to the pedestrian as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to a local hospital. The man was later succumbed to the injuries. The pedestrian is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30’s. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

VTD Detectives are urging the public to come forward with information regarding this fatal hit-and-run. If you witnessed the collision or have any information, please contact VTD Detectives.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
