WHY: To announce a $50,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver who killed 57-year-old Melva Chapman.

On Friday, February 27, 2015, at approximately 8:20 PM., Chapman was struck by a vehicle while crossing Saticoy Street at Lemp Avenue, in the San Fernando Valley. Tragically, Chapman died of her injuries at a scene.

The vehicle is described as a white 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck with damage to the front left portion of the vehicle. The driver sped away from the scene without stopping, providing identification or rendering aid.

Investigators have run out of leads, and are hopeful that a monetary reward will help to receive additional information so that this case can be solved.
